May Cavs Playoffs

Playoff season is here for the Cavs.  It is a fun and busy time for us.  Luckily the Cavs swept the first two rounds.  We enjoy going to the games and the watch parties.  Austin and Sydney have a lot of fun. 

We took the kids down to Play House Square for a show Pedal Punk.  When I saw it, it remained me of street performers in Virginia Beach.  This year we will not be going to Virginia Beach so I decided to get us tickets.  It worked out perfectly because the weather was cold and rainy. A great day to see a show.  Then there was the international children festival.  There were five passport stations.  There was also balloon clowns and face painting, and crafts.  Austin and Sydney had a great time!  We even surprised them with dinner at Burger King. 

May is going to be a very busy and emotional month.  This will be the last month it’s just Sydney home with me.  I know she is ready for kindergarten.  Thinking of that we did get her acceptance letter for kindergarten.  There were no issues and she doesn’t even have summer homework.  If a child needs more practice with anything they would give homework.  That was not the case with Sydney.  That confirms are decision to send her to kindergarten this year.  I will miss being home with her though. 

Sydney had her last story time this week.  When I first starting taking the kids to story time, Austin was 2 and Sydney was 1.  It was a challenge.  They would not listen.  I felt like everyone was looking at me thinking I can’t control my kids.  But I still kept going every week. It gave us something to do.  It got the kids into reading. I let them pick out books.  And now, it’s over and I am sad.  But very grateful I had the opportunity to do it. 

Austin is getting ready to end the school year.  He has a field trip to Lake Farm Park soon that I am lucky enough to attend too.  He is doing the ABC’s to summer at school.  Each day, is a different letter and he has to usually bring something in.  He’s had hat day, board game (which he brought in chess), stuffed animal day, bubbles, etc.  It has been a lot of fun.  He has also finishing track season which he really enjoyed.  

We have also signed the contact for our addition.  We are just waiting for the city to approve it so they can start building.  I am anxious about that too.  I just want it to be done.  This project is going to make our summer interesting.  Let’s hope it goes smoothly.
